What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

Artificial Intelligence or AI is technology that enables computers and machines to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. Some of these tasks are learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, language understanding, and even the ability to interact with the environment. Digital assistants, GPS guidance, autonomous vehicles, and generative AI tools (like OpenAI's Chat GPT) are just a few examples of AI in our daily lives. The goal of AI is to create machines and systems that exhibit intelligent behavior and adapt to various situations without being explicitly programmed for each specific task.

What is Generative AI?

For the purposes of this guide, we will focus on generative AI models, such as Chat GPT. Traditionally, generative AI helped recommend and understand information. Now, generative AI tools use large language models, and they can help us create new content that is similar to existing data but not a direct copy. Based on a user generated prompt, AI generative tools can generate audio, images, music, computer code, and even human language and writing.
